Not long after the devastating news of Grand Theft Auto 6 ‘s delay, Rockstar made sure to keep fans’ spirits up by releasing the second trailer. The new trailer showcases more of what players can expect from the highly anticipated game.
Released on May 6, 2025, the trailer introduces a more cinematic approach that highlights the dynamic criminal duo, Jason and Lucia, and the expansive world of Vice City within the fictional state of Leonida.
Unlike previous Grand Theft Auto titles, which often revolved around lone protagonists navigating the underworld, Grand Theft Auto 6 takes a fresh approach with a Bonnie and Clyde-style dynamic between Jason and Lucia. The trailer delves deeper into their relationship, suggesting an intense partnership.
Lucia’s character seems driven by a desire to take control of her destiny, as she spent time in prison before meeting Jason. Jason, on the other hand, seems more calculated, possibly seeking a way to escape his criminal past, but is unable to resist the thrill of high-stakes adventures.
Important Frames From The Trailer
The trailer starts with a peaceful coastal scene, a clear contrast to Grand Theft Auto 5’s Los Santos. The visual enhancements are immediately noticeable.
First Glimpse at Characters
This is where Rockstar introduces Brian Heder, portraying him as a “classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling”. Brian Heder provides Jason with a place to stay rent free. But in return, Jason must help him with his schemes.
Brian isn’t too pleased that Jason is taking it easy instead of going out to collect rent from Brian’s other paying tenants.
Jason’s line, “Love you, Jason” marks the first official confirmation of his name. Before this only Lucia’s name had been revealed.
This is also the first clear look at Jason’s character model without a shirt. This scene reveals a lot more detail in his design, including improved textures and realism.
Jason is shown to be quite popular in these parts. Many people, especially girls, call out his name as he passes by. Jason doesn’t seem too bothered by it, though.
As Jason goes about collecting rent, he encounters a rather stubborn weed store owner. That doesn’t seem to present an obstacle for Jason as he slaps him and helps himself to the cash register.
New Locations Of Grand Theft Auto 6

In this scene, we can see Jason driving along the freeway with a left turn to Vice City airport and Ambrosia, a location suspected to be Orlando. Straight ahead lies Vice City’s Downtown area. To the right is the city’s Southside, and then Peacock Bay.
Potential Comeback of Features
This isn’t just a casual workout scene – it could be a subtle nod to the return of the gym feature, last seen in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Given that fans have been hoping for its comeback since Grand Theft Auto 5, its inclusion would be more than welcome.
Notably, a few girls watch from a distance, which might hint at improved NPC awareness and interactions, potentially making the game’s world feel even more dynamic and reactive.
After buying a pack of beer, we see Jason’s back as he is leaving the store. The back of his shirt says “LEONIDA MARINE CENTER – WE SUPPORT ALL MARINE LIFE” possibly reflecting his former service.
As the trailer unfolds, we see just how deep the bond between Jason and Lucia runs. This isn’t just a typical relationship. They are not only lovers, but partners in every sense, navigating a world where trust is everything. The challenges they face, the risks they take, and the loyalty required to survive only make us more eager to dive into their story.
The trailer goes out of its way to assure us that the story will deliver everything we have ever wanted.
